At 3.4 Mt, India's 28 April - 04 May steam coal imports plummets 19% week-on-week

From April 28th to May 4th of this year, India's coal imports witnessed a notable distribution from various nations Among these, Indonesia stands out as the principal contributor, supplying a substantial 2,143,015 metric tons (61.7%), representing a significant portion of India's total import volume.

Following Indonesia, Australia emerges as another significant supplier, providing 198,000 metric tons (5.7%) of steam coal to India during this period. Canada also played a notable role, contributing 88,000 metric tons (2.5%).

While Indonesia, Australia, and Canada are prominent contributors, other nations such as Mozambique, Russia, South Africa, and the United States also play vital roles in India's coal import landscape.
